What does the Capital Projects Department Do?
The Capital Projects Department is comprised of the following:
Construction and Facilities Development Division: Responsible for overseeing the planning, design, project and construction management for capital improvements and major maintenance of city buildings, facilities and infrastructure. The division also provides project management, construction, administration, and inspection support for city projects across various departments.
Engineering Division: Responsible for the design of roadways, bridges, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, water and sewer infrastructure, traffic operations, signals and streetlights. It is also responsible for the preparation of maps, plans, surveys and the Geographic Information System (GIS) data to document the City’s utilities, built improvements, and natural features.
